Tinos is the island of Megalohari (Virgin Mary), of arts and beauty. Through the centuries, Tinos has been influenced by many cultures. First were the Pelasgians, later came the Ionians, the Athenians, the Macedonians the Ptolemians and the Romans. The first establishment has been localized from the neolithic period and continues through the geometric and archaic periods.
The island has preserved to a large extent the traditional traits of its village architecture and everyday lifestyle, whether it is the warm hospitality, the festivals or various customs.

Η Τήνος είναι το νησί της Μεγαλόχαρης, της τέχνης, της ομορφιάς. Κάτοικοί της ήταν πρώτα οι Πελασγοί, μετά οι Ίωνες, οι Αθηναίοι, οι Μακεδόνες, οι Πτολεμαίοι, οι Ρωμαίοι. Αρχαίοι οικισμοί εντοπίζονται στο νησί ήδη από την νεολιθική εποχή και αργότερα τη γεωμετρική και την αρχαϊκή.
